Biography

Laura Comi, obtained her high school diploma and graduated to Rome Opera House, after a German tour and a training period at the London's Company “English National Ballet”, she became part of the ballet team of Rome Opera House, to be promoted after that to Principal dancer.
Her career highlights include : "Lo Schiaccianoci","Giselle","Don Chisciotte", "La Bella Addormentata", “Il Lago dei Cigni”, "Romeo e Giulietta", “La Sylphide”, “Cenerentola”, “Raymonda”, "La Fille Mal Gardée”, "Bisbetica Domata","E. Onegin","Spartacus","Pas de Quattre","La Péri",“Petruska”.
She danced modern versions of the ballets: "Cenerentola" by L.Cannito, "Coppelia" by M.Bigonzetti,"Romeo e Giulietta" and "Coppelia" by A. Amodio.
She played tribute productions to G. Balanchine dancing "I Quattro Temperamenti" (Il Sanguigno), "Allegro Brillante", "Who Cares?", "Apollon Musagete (Tersicore); tribute to V. Nijinsky "Yeux", and tribute to L. Massine “La bambina americana” in ”Parade”.
She danced also: “Sei in movimento” by M.Bigonzetti; “Kachaturian pas de deux” by D.Allan; ”Uccello di fuoco” and “Carmina Burana” by G.Carbone; “Il Pipistrello” by R. Nunez; “Tre Preludi” by B. Stevenson; “Estri” by A.Milloss; “Ricercare a nove movimenti” and “Per Alvin” by A.Amodio; “Arlesienne” and “Ma Pavlova” by R.Petit; ”Pini di Roma” and "Blues e Fanfare” by R. North; “Vespri Siciliani” by H. Spoerli; “L’Art d’Aimer” by G.P.Aviotte; “Le Jarden Jeux d’Amour” by G.C. Maillot; “Orlando”, “Filumena Marturano” and “Gerusalemme” by L. Bouy; “Passasti al par d’amor” by L. Gay; “Girotondo Romano” and “Trilogia di Figaro” by L. Cannito.

In 1996 she was promoted Principal of Rome Opera House and was given by Prof. Alberto Testa "Leonide Massine" award for dancing, in Positano.
In 2000 she cooperated as a teacher at Rome Opera House.
In 2001 she was given the Gino Tani award, thanks to her interpretation of "Romeo e Giulietta".
In 2002 she was invited by Teatro Comunale of Florence fo summer season.
In 2003 she partecipated to the Gala Internazionale “Todi Music Fest” in Norfolk, Virginia (U.S.A.).
She performed in Brasil representing Rome Opera House (Porto Alegre – B.Gonsalves).
In 2004 she danced ”Il Lago dei cigni” in Piacenza in the Teatro Municipale and in Catania in the Teatro Massimo Bellini and “Petruska” in the Teatro Kremlin of Moscow.
In 2004 she was promoted Etoile of Rome Opera House.
In 2004, 2005 and 2006 she partecipated in the comedy "Il canto del cigno” with the actor Mario Scaccia.
In 2005 she danced “Petruska” in the ancient Teatro romano of Aspendos (Turchia).
In the same year she was given, by the Associazione Culturale “Romeo Collanti” the “Marforio d’oro” award.
In 2006 she danced “Jeux” in the Teatro Verdi of Trieste.
In the same year she was given the “Le ragioni della nuova politica” award by the Associazione Culturale L’Alba del Terzo Millennio.
In 2007 she debuted in “Alcyone”, music, dance and prose show with Mario Scaccia; she also choreographed and played the danced scenes of Rigoletto, Traviata and Trovatore in the Festival dei Presidi di Orbetello.
In september she was invited in Positano to the “Pas de Dieux” soiree.
In 2008 she was given the “Leonide Massine” award.
In 2009 she was given the “La Ginestra d'oro” and “Roma è... Arte” awards.
In 2010 she was given the “GEF” award and the ”Athena Parthenos” silver plate.
She is currently, from October 2011, Director of Rome Opera House Dance School.
